That is correct. There should really be no ‘physical effort’ in any big way. When we are teaching the technique, we have riders work on flat ground making the move, with the goal of lifting the front wheel and inch or two off the ground. Once they are doing this correctly, we move to a curb sized drop and see if they can land both wheels at the same time. From there, we move to larger and larger drops. It is similar to the way we start a manual, but much less physical, since we are not trying to get on the balance point on the back wheel. I hope this makes sense.
